How to Generate and Send Energy Through Your Hands
Everything is energy.
This is a fact. We all come from and are a part of a divine Source of power, and we have the ability to channel this power within us when we connect with it.
My own spiritual journey took its most important turn when I received my first-ever energy healing from my dear friend Jen (she is truly the best at what she does!). Since then, I have been playing with energy on my own, experiencing with it and learning how to tap into my power.
Using my hands to channel and send power is a technique that I use whenever I want to send energy to heal or empower a person (including myself), an object, or a situation.
I came up with it a couple of years ago (honestly, it just came to me, though I am sure you can find many versions of it online!) and have been fine-tuning it since.
I often use it to infuse power into a spell or ritual I’m performing. It can also be used to bless, protect or heal items, people, animals, situations, homes, vehicles, and even non-physical or abstract concepts (like a book that hasn’t been written yet, or a business idea, or anything else).
(Yes, I did it the other day to bless and empower my future book with the energy of success. I also did it on my vision board, for that matter!)
This technique can definitely be used during dire situations or events that affect us as a collective. I used it when Notre-Dame de Paris was burning. I used it a lot in 2020, to help mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 crisis, as soon as I heard of the Beirut explosion (I immediately sent healing and protection to my grandmother’s home – she and all my relatives were just fine), during the 2020 presidential election, and more recently, during the Capitol riots in January 2021.
It goes without saying that you can definitely combine this technique with prayer or anything else you use to send good energy and vibes towards something.
I am excited to share it with you today because it is simple yet powerful. It works!
This technique consists in generating energy from within you with your breath and intention, and sending it towards something or someone using your hands.
Here, your hands serve as the channel or conduit for this energy, making it easier for you to visualize it and send it.
You can use this technique for as many different purposes as you want, including manifestation, magic, safety, success, and healing. Be creative – use it over food, artwork, jewelry, or even your makeup before you apply it, for a confidence boost!
There’s no need for physical touch or for the recipient to be present: I often use it when I see prayer requests for healing or comfort on social media.
It also works well in emergencies: even if you don’t have the time or ability to get into the perfect meditative headspace, if the intention is there, it is powerful enough.
And yes (I can hear you wondering), you can definitely use this technique on yourself!
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Breathe to center yourself
Begin with conscious, mind breathing that helps you feel centered and grounded. I like to use the first breathing technique I learned in yoga: inhale slowly from nose, and exhale slowly from mouth. Take as long as you need to do so. As you breathe, you will feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed, and more and more in tune with your personal power.
Step 2: Generate power from within you
When you are ready, generate power from within you. If you are familiar with chakras, you may use yours to grow this power. I always start with my Solar Plexus chakra, which is the center of our personal power. Then I use my breath to connect my Solar Plexus to other chakras depending on my goal (Root is for safety and grounding, Sacral for creativity and sensuality, Heart for love and compassion, Throat for confidence and assertiveness, Third Eye for intuition and knowledge, and Crown for healing and divine power). Continue to breathe into your power as you feel it grow, powerful and bright.
Step 3: Picture that power as pure light
Picturing your power as pure light helps you visualize it within your body. I usually see mine as a very thick ray of light (it kinda looks like the spells in the early Harry Potter PC video games – please comment if these were part of your childhood!). It usually is the color of whatever chakras I tapped into, or, sometimes, various colors that have specific meanings to me and the situation I’m sending energy to. See this light travel through your body, filling it entirely until you are one big ray of bright gleaming light.
Step 4: Channel the power through your hands.
Place your hands face down, on the object. If your object is not nearby, or it isn’t a tangible item, picture it in your mind or visualize the concept. If you have trouble doing so, just picture a word or two describing the object (I once even wrote the name of a relative who needed protection a piece of paper because it was a very stressful situation and I had trouble focusing.)
Next, continue breathing mindfully. When you inhale, see the power grow within you, and as you exhale, use your breath to “push” the energy out of your body and into the recipient. Feel the warmth in your hands. This warmth is your power, and you are infusing your object with it. Continue doing it until you know it is sufficient. Peacefully step away, continuing to breathe to keep yourself centered.
This practice is one of the most helpful and best things you can do to remedy a dire situation. It works. It feels good when you do it. It feels good to do it to others. And as long as you’re mindful of not draining yourself and keep yourself grounded and centered, it cannot cause you harm (believe me, I’m speaking from experience when I say it’s better to send energy than getting emotionally drained by a difficult situation that you have little to no solution to).
I hope you will give it a try! Keep in mind that the more you do it, the more intuitive it gets, and the better you become at it!
Let me know if you tried it and how it went in the comments!
