Hello my darlings!
I hope May is treating you well. The other day, I discovered a hidden gem of a beach ten minutes from my home. It isn’t on the ocean, but on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay, and it has sand and the deliciously salty algae smell. According to Maps, it would take me approximately forty-five minutes to walk there (I am a little under three miles alway). So this is an expedition I will attempt pretty soon, especially that earlier this spring, I dug out my old Fitbit and re-downloaded My Fitness Pal, and am actively working on eating better, and getting stronger and healthier.
Temperance is all about finding balance during difficult times, and especially adapting after brutal changes. We may be beginning to see a light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a new normal to adjust to. No matter our background, location, ethnicity, or socio-economic status, we have all been affected by recent events. And there may have been other things in our lives that also need time to adjust to. So even when we think we’re ready to move on to the next thing, this card, which we already drew last week, is a reminder to take a little bit more time to adjust, and indulge in all the self-care in the world.
Our next card is Judgment, and this week, I feel that it’s a reminder to turn to God. Or the Universe, Mother Nature, Love, whatever you like to call the source of energy we all came from, and that connects us all. Whenever you feel overwhelmed, or tense, or on the defensive, pause and take a deep breath. Then, let go, and let God. Remember that some things that you hold on to and allow to cause strife are trivial. Breathe, and remember that you are connected to and supported by this very same source of energy, and it will not let anything bad happen to you whatsoever. How can it, when everything is happening in your favor?
Finally, we have The Magician, one of my favorite cards. I love this card, because it reminds us of the power we have, within us, to bring about whatever we want. Remember that no matter what, you aren’t stuck. You have, right here, right now, whatever you need to move on to the next step, and then the one after, and so on. If it’s a project you’re starting, think about all the big companies that first started in garages, and basements, and on dining room tables. Think of J.K. Rowling and her amazing, unforgettable success story. Allow yourself to dream, then turn those dreams into goals, and start planning on how you’ll make them happen! You got this!
So, to summarize our message for this week, settle into your new normal, rely on spirit no matter what, and remember that you have the power to create the life of your dreams!
Much, much love,
